Blue Palace

The Blue Palace is located near a small cliff, fac­ing the island of Spinalonga, a short distance from the village of Elounda, in the north east of the isle of Crete. All the terminals of the electrical system are made with Vimar products in the Idea and Plana series. The complex is composed of 204 rooms, 31 of which are suites; 106 have an exclusive swimming pool. The structure has its own private beach, eas­ily accessible with a panoramic lift. Besides being distinguished by its prestige and care for detail, the complex is harmoniously set in a natural land­scape that is sim­ply breathtaking and includes an exclusive wellness centre for thalas­sotherapy treat­ments. Built in 2003, it was one of the prestigious structures that managed to accommodate the great numbers of visitors who in the summer of 2004 went to Greece for the Olympic Games. During a stay at the Blue Palace it is moreover possible to take care of one’s mind, body and spirit. The complex has a structure of two thousand square metres arranged on three floors that always ensures privacy and tranquil rooms, representing the state of the art for thalassotherapy treatments. It is possible to choose one of the three swimming pools for health treatments or one of the twenty-two rooms to undergo individual programmes in the greatest comfort and respect for privacy. All the treatments are followed by specialized and medical personnel including nutri­tion experts. It is possible to undergo different types of massage and a wide range of beauty treatments... even rejuvenating ones. All this points to the kind of holiday to be expected, in the comfort and safety also of an electrical system made with Vimar appliances. For this event Vimar was chosen for many constructions, including the Hotel Grande Bretagne of Athens. For the Blue Palace, Vimar offered solutions to insert electrical functions subtly, respecting the architectural solutions, to combine practical use with customization and essential shapes. A peculiarity of the Blue Palace is the offer of various types of accommodation, devised for different styles and needs of experiencing the sea. For this purpose different aesthetic solutions were chosen: Idea with the Classic white cover plate and Rondò and Plana with beige and ivory cover plates. All the rooms are fitted with every comfort and, as regards the electrical system, they have a wealth of functions, including independent control in each room of the ambient temperature, RJ sockets for Internet connections, phone sockets with outside lines, TVRD-SAT sockets for terrestrial and satellite reception. The different living solutions are represented by: • Large bungalows, all with sea views, partly with their own private swimming pool and furnished verandah to ensure comfort and privacy when enjoying the sun and sea. • Deluxe suites of eighty square metres with private swimming pool and sea view, some with solutions on two floors that, from the private terrace, offer a spectacular view over the sea and the isle of Spinalonga. • Villa Almyra and Thalassa (135 m2), modern versions of the typical local architecture, put you at your ease in a climate of comfort and relax to enjoy a discreet holiday among the scents and colours of an exclusive Mediterranean atmosphere. • The Gran Villa (220 m2) introduces the guests into a world of great luxury and refined elegance. It provides a comfortable stay with large spaces to be enjoyed both indoors and in the open air. It provides an external swimming pool with hydromassage, two bathrooms tiled with precious marbles and fitted with a Jacuzzi and shower cabin, fireplaces in the lounge and in the bedroom: a perfect dwelling. For all these different types of accommodation, as well as the possibility of being able to dine while relaxing in your own apartment, the guests have the choice of various restaurants and refined typical taverns that offer the delicacies of international cuisine and typical local dishes. • The large verandah with its pergola on the first floor and the artistic cobblestone entrance yard with the characteristic mosaic pattern on the ground floor invite you to unforgettable romantic dinners caressed by the beauty of the sea and the rhythm of the waves breaking on the rocks.
