Plana on board the new Viking Star
"Viking Star” is the first of three cruise ships produced by Fincantieri for Viking Ocean Cruises. The second and third ships in the fleet will be the “Viking Sea” and the “Viking Sky”, planned for delivery in 2016.
For the “Viking Star” too, the leading shipbuilding group in Italy and around the world has chosen to install the devices and cover plates from the Vimar Plana series, here in a dual version: white and silver. A choice that once more confirms the success of Plana, renowned for the ease with which it blends into different settings: from bedroom to bathroom, from corridors to large lounges. With its minimalist and ergonomic design, exquisite and easy-to-clean materials, wide range of colours, comprehensive functions and elegant laser-engraved symbols with night-time backlighting, this series is the ideal companion to ensure travel comfort and wellbeing.
Like the other two twin ships, the “Viking Star” falls into the small cruise liner market segment. With a gross tonnage of around 47,800 tonnes, it will have 465 cabins carrying up to 930 passengers.
The ship was designed by SMC Design of London, while the highly sophisticated, finely detailed interiors were designed by Rottet of Los Angeles.
