Since July 2012 Vimar has been part of the EnOcean Alliance, an international consortium of producers, architects, contractors, academics and distribution partners that aims to promote the development of automation solutions using EnOcean technology products to implement sustainable building projects aiming at energy efficiency, increasing the flexibility and reducing the cost of buildings on the global market.
The aim is to standardise and internationalise EnOcean wireless technology for intelligent energy management, through the interoperability of the partners' products. The use of this "green" technology, which has no cable connections and no battery power, but which instead exploits the energy generated when the button on the device is pressed, offers energy savings and reduced installation costs, contributing to the creation of a more "environment-friendly" world.
Founded in April 2008 and based in California (USA), today Enocean Alliance has 295 members and is growing rapidly, as shown by the trend recorded at the 2012 edition of Light & Building.
Since 2010 Vimar has been marketing a number of radio-frequency devices that respond to the growing demands for practicality and freedom of installation. Radio-frequency is used to extend both conventional and Home Automation systems to all those areas in which it is not viable or possible to carry out masonry works. Easy to install on wood, glass or brick, the Vimar devices offer the practicality of batteryless controls; without the need to replace or dispose of batteries, they respect the environment and at the same time save energy. The ideal solution in renovations, system extensions, changes in function or furnishing, installations subject to architectural or regulatory constraints, both in residential and tertiary sectors.
