The Permanent Design Observatory has once again selected two Vimar products for publication in the ADI Design Index 2024: Eikon Exè with the Tondo control and the Roxie video entrance panel. This prestigious publication marks the first volume of the biennial cycle dedicated to industrial design. Selected products will be eligible for the 2026 ADI Compasso d'Oro Award and will also be considered for the annual National Innovation Award, known as the 'Award of Awards', sponsored by the Italian President of the Republic. A great achievement for Vimar, reaffirming its role as a pioneer in sustainable design for living spaces.
The Permanent Design Observatory appreciated the Eikon Exé series for the curved aesthetics of the Tondo control, offering a visually comforting and embracing experience. Elegant and discrete, inspired by the classic round-shaped controls with backlighting around the button and a choice of LED colours. Made of metal and always featuring matching control and cover plate, it creates a sophisticated Total Look that ensures aesthetic consistency in all 6 variants: Matt white, Anthracite Grey, Brushed nickel, Brushed dark bronze, polished Gold and satin Gold. Also available in the By-me Plus home automation version and with KNX standard for building automation, Tondo control challenges the rigidity of conventional shapes and its round silhouette represents the harmonious blend of modern technology and organic architecture reminiscent of the soft contours of nature.
The second Vimar product selected for publication in the ADI Design Index 2024 is the Roxie outdoor station. The new video entrance panel with Due Fili Plus technology brings together robust design and state-of-the-art technology to offer a secure and smart access control and call management system. It is especially suited to small accommodation facilities that are unmanned or without a reception, where access control can be operated using RFID tags (digital proximity keys), transponder cards or remotely in smart mode with the new View Key App. Roxie allows the user to open doors to rooms and communal areas directly from their smartphone and the facility manager to coordinate access on the part of guests or customers on-line via the View cloud portal.
Thanks to the ADI Design Index 2024, the Eikon Exé series with the Tondo control and the Roxie video door entry outdoor station could become part of the prestigious historical collection of Italian industrial design, designated a ‘national treasure’ in 2004. Yet another success for Vimar and further confirmation of its unstoppable development path in the world of design.
