Eikon Exé Chosen for the St. Regis Red Sea Resort: An Oasis with Cutting-Edge Architecture

The first private island inaugurated in the Red Sea as a luxury tourist destination, located in the Al Wajh lagoon and accessible only by boat or seaplane, Ummah Island is an oasis of cutting-edge architecture. Here lies the St. Regis Red Sea Resort, part of the prestigious Marriott group, an eco-conscious island featuring 90 beachfront villas, each equipped with a private pool, solarium, and outdoor shower.

Designed by architect Kengo Kuma, with interiors curated by Kristina Zanic Consultant, the resort’s design draws inspiration from coral reefs, marine flora and fauna, and the surrounding stretches of sand dunes. To minimize concrete usage, the structures are made of prefabricated wood, with natural cedar shingle roofs and walls finished with clay plaster. The curving lines of the buildings blend seamlessly into the landscape; in particular, the Dune Villas reflect the shape of desert dunes, while the Coral Villas, built on stilts over the water and connected by walkways with direct sea access, evoke the shape of a seashell. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the living spaces with natural light, featuring furnishings with soft curves, spiral shapes, and a color palette inspired by the desert, enriched with shades of blue and green found in the local vegetation. Five restaurants offer exclusive beachfront dining, serving specialties sourced from local farms and fishermen.

In this exclusive setting, Vimar plays a key role, particularly with the Eikon Exé metal series featuring home automation controls. A plate with clean, square lines, Eikon Exé is the perfect synthesis of technological precision and craftsmanship, available in various prestigious materials and finishes, from stone to metal to glass. It seamlessly integrates into any environment, creating a unique identity each time. With over 200 functions based on international product standards, Eikon Exé provides numerous solutions for system customization, striking the perfect balance between aesthetics, technology, and sustainability.
