Plana: princess of the seas.
Vimar casts off aboard the Royal Princess
Christened by Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge on 13 June 2013, the Royal Princess is the new flagship of Princess Cruise fleet.
Made entirely in Italy by Fincantieri, the new ship can accommodate 3,560 passengers among 1,780 cabins with the exquisite furnishings and styles that has made Italy famous all over the world. All the external cabins have balconies to allow the enjoyment of the spectacle of the voyage directly from the room.
Equipped with every comfort – wellness centre, gym, swimming pool, two restaurants, one of which is only for private dining, and scenic walks overlooking the sea, the Royal Princess was designed to impress guests in every detail and make them feel pampered in a luxurious atmosphere that is safe and comfortable at the same time.
In such a sophisticated environment, the Vimar Plana series was impossible to exclude, chosen here in the delicate ivory-coloured version that fits in perfectly with the subtle colours featured in the suites and cabins.
Clean lines shape buttons of different sizes, all backlit with soft, energy efficient lights. Intuitive laser-engraved symbols explain the various functions while quiet mechanisms operate the corresponding controls for the same functions.
Nothing is left to chance, every detail of the electrical system has been specially designed to offer security and well-being. From the bedside switches that control the lighting of the various rooms to the with universal sockets able to accept a wide range of electrical devices; from the passage lighting which render the various passageways of the vessel visible even in the dark to the shaver sockets installed in every bathroom in the ship.
This prestigious achievement consolidates the now long-standing collaboration between Vimar and Fincantieri. Two 100% Italian companies that through their passion and expertise wave the colours of the Italian flag high, rendering 'Made in Italy' a selling point.
